San Juan Island

San Juan Island is about 70 miles north of Seattle. It is one of five islands (including Vancouver, British Columbia) that are connected by the Washington State Ferry System to mainland Washington State. The mainland ferry terminal is at Anacortes Washington. Friday Harbor is the largest town on the islands - with a population of about 2,000. My wife, Carol, and I spend about half of our time here in a house we bought in February 2011 - the other half in Seattle.
